This feature can only be used with Facebook (Meta) Business Manager.

Your email subscribers can also be a relevant audience for your Facebook campaigns. This way you can reach users on multiple channels at once and increase your chances of conversion. Below, we'll show you how to automatically run your email campaign content on Facebook as well.

Connect Facebook to Ecomail

I. Connect your company Facebook page

  1. Go to Contacts in the top menu

  2. Select your main contact list

  3. In the left menu, pick Facebook integration

  4. Connect your business page

II. Connect Ecomail to your Facebook Business

  1. In the top menu, select More -> Facebook Audiences

  2. Click on Connect Facebook

  3. You will then see a selection of advertising accounts that you manage

Prepare your campaign

Once you have connected Facebook to your Ecomail account, you can start creating the campaign itself. Start by creating a Campaign in Ecomail.

In the second step, check the "Facebook follow up campaign" checkbox. Once checked, you'll see additional step to the campaign creation process.

You will then set up the content of your email Campaign and then move on to setting up the Facebook follow up campaign itself.

Fill in the text, image, link and then the important campaign parameters in the grey box on the right.

Post audience - if you have a large enough audience, we recommend targeting your Facebook campaign to everyone who doesn't open your email. This way, you will also reach an audience that does not regularly open your emails and prefers to communicate via Facebook. However, you can also try targeting all of your subscribers.

Please note: the ad will only be shown to subscribers who are found (matched) on Facebook by email address. Because not all of your customers use the same email for purchases and Facebook accounts, it is possible, the final number will be lower.

Budget - here you fill in the amount for the whole campaign.

The payment for the FB campaign is deducted directly by Facebook.

Post timing - set how long the Facebook campaign should run for (for example, 24h) and how many days it should run.

Post publish - set how soon after sending email campaign will the facebook followup start showing

Post placement - You don't set the post placement. It is automatically set to "Feed of selected Facebook posts"

Publishing on Facebook

Once you have submitted your email campaign, you can check if the Facebook campaign has been added to your advertising account in Business Manager. You can find it in the Ads Manager section as follows:

Campaign Name - Facebook followups

Ad set name - "email campaign name in ecomail" - ad set

Ad title - "email campaign name in ecomail" - ad set

The results

Once you've launched your Facebook campaign, you can also track the basic metrics of your campaign in the Reports section of Ecomail. All other metrics can be found in the FB reports.

FAQ

My page does not appear when creating a FB follow-up.

You need to have a previously created and paid advertising campaign directly in Business Manager on FB. Then you will see the page in Ecomail.

Pages are also subject to Facebook approval, so you need to communicate if you want to block the page directly with FB.

The FB follow-up preview is not displayed correctly.

Disable add-ons in your browser that block advertising (e.g. AdBlock).

The campaign returns an error and FB follow-up cannot be created.

When creating a campaign, a specific audience (custom audience) is also created to be targeted by the FB follow-up. Related to this is that the audience of recipients must have more than 100 recipients and also the account in Business Manager must be several weeks old, i.e. it cannot be a new page. (Facebook: "Ad accounts owned by companies that are new to Facebook products can only create custom audiences from customer data files after several weeks of following our policies.")

If a FB follow-up fails to create for some reason, you need to re-create the FB follow-up, e.g. with another campaign (not by duplicating a campaign you already sent, because then you would be mailing the contacts twice).
